He also played club football for Halifax, Castleford, and Huddersfield in the European Super League. The former dual-code rugby player scored 23 tries in 38 appearances while playing for Widnes during 1997-1998. The rugby player also exhibited his rugby skills in France. In addition to these appearances, the South African captained the South Africa national rugby league team during the 2000 World Cup and also played for the Scotland national rugby league team.

Bloem was the first rugby player to deliver a positive test for Nandrolone (Methandrostenolone), a performance enhancing anabolic steroid, in November 1994. The South African became the first British-based player to test positive while with Doncaster. Bloem, who played international rugby league for South Africa and Scotland, was banned for two years for his positive test.

In his biography, Bloem revealed that he used the steroid to treat double hernia on the advice of someone at the gym.

About Dianabol (Methandrostenolone)

Dianabol (Methandrostenolone), also known as Dbol and Nandrolone, is an orally-effective anabolic steroid that is popular among athletes and bodybuilders as a bulking cycle drug. Methandrostenolone is commonly stacked with injectable drugs such as Trenbolone Acetate, Testosterone propionate, enanthate, or cypionate.

About Dianabol (Methandrostenolone)

Use of Dianabol is associated with dramatic improvements in the levels of muscle strength, glycogenolysis, and protein synthesis. Methandrostenolone is significantly more active than an equivalent quantity of Testosterone as it can reduce affinity of the steroid for Sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) that deactivates molecules of steroid and prevents them from inducing or exerting further reactions with the body. Methandrostenolone, also termed as Dbol, is usually used only at the start of long "steroid cycles" to kickstart muscle mass and strength gains.
